Hostal Abadía Madrid

For the price, I think this is a very, very good hotel, and I'd recommend it. The room was clean and adequate, though not very large, and had a refrigerator and kettle. Breakfast is served at a small café next door, with a good variety. The hotel is very central, within walking distance of most of Madrid's main attractions. You can even walk to Atocha train station in 10-15 minutes.

The location is amazing, with beautiful places in walking distance and quick, easy taxi or Uber pickups right outside. The water pressure is great and the hot water is amazing. Room service and the front desk were excellent, and it had everything and more that you'd want in a hotel, let alone a hostal. We stayed with family and would definitely come back again and again.

The room was clean and big enough for two, and we didn't need public transport at all because the location was so good. Breakfast was great, with quality food including fresh mango and avocado. A very good hotel, highly recommended!

The location is great. We walked almost everywhere, and the room was nice, clean, and fairly spacious. The soundproofing helps, but on Friday night it couldn't block people coming back late and taking showers, or cars honking outside. A bright green light by our door, presumably for the emergency exit, also made it hard to sleep. Stairs are an issue if you want to avoid them. Reception is on the second floor, rooms start on the third, and we were on the fifth. They don't want you taking the elevator down, so there's quite a lot of walking downstairs. The reception staff seemed annoyed or bored, and we had to ask for every bit of information, even how to open the downstairs door at night. They had maps but didn't mark the hotel's location for us. At breakfast the staff didn't seem happy to see us either, and the choices weren't great. Coffee cost extra, and the filter coffee was half cold.
