The people were pretty kind, and the location was great. But there was a lot of noise, even around 1 a.m., from people nearby having a night out, including workers from the hostel. The building is old, so I could hear faucets turning on and people showering in the middle of the night. Coming from a different time zone, I found it really disruptive and couldn't rest properly during my six days there. It felt pretty costly for what was offered.

I was comfortable and cosy during my stay at the Hostal Alonso, but what happened afterward made it even more memorable. I left my AirPods Max behind and only noticed while boarding my flight. I contacted the hostal right away and was put in touch with Alberto. He went to great lengths to send them back to me. He's a kind and trustworthy person, and I'd have no hesitation recommending the Hostal Alonso to a friend.

The rooms and bathrooms were kept really clean, and the staff were warm and welcoming. It’s right in the centre, close to the main sights. I’d happily stay again when I’m back in Madrid. Highly recommend it. 🙂

The staff were really friendly, and the beds had comfy mattresses and pillows with fresh, clean sheets. Our room was ready around 10:00, so we could check in early, which was very convenient. We were totally satisfied.

We were eight friends staying for one night, and it felt comfortable, almost like home. Each room had either two single beds or one double, which you don’t often get in hostels. The floors, washrooms, and toilets were unbelievably clean, with the toiletries we needed. The woman there was so sweet, friendly, and helpful in every way. It’s in a prime spot too. I’d recommend it 💯.
