Hostal Avenida Barajas

We found the hotel pretty average, but it had the basic amenities and was easy to use. Check-in and checkout were simple, and they let us store our luggage. It's close to the airport, just one train stop away, although there isn't much to do around the neighborhood. I'd recommend it if you've got an early or late flight.

The staff were incredibly friendly. It's in a perfect spot, just a three-minute walk from Barajas metro station, though the room was a little worn.

The room was basic and clean, and the hotel is very close to the airport. I paid 90€ including parking, which was right next to the hotel and cost 10€. At that price, I think I could've found somewhere nicer. I booked on the day, though, so maybe an earlier booking would've cost less. My first-floor room was right by the lobby and entrance, so it was pretty loud and I could hear everything. The tiny TV in my two-person room had no signal, but I wasn't there to watch it anyway.

There are lots of food choices within a block, including local places and fast food chains, and both receptionists I dealt with were helpful and professional. The room with two twin beds was quiet, and compared with similar Hostals I've used, it had more free toiletries, outlets, and towels, though the beds were pretty basic. This is a very no-frills setup, more like a motel-level stay for us in the US. With Madrid hotel prices being high, it's good value if you need an affordable place near the airport.
