We were especially glad to have our Sixt rental car pick-up just around the corner, about a two-minute walk away, since we wanted to explore outside Madrid too. The nightly rate felt very reasonable once we considered how central the hotel is, and walking saved us a lot of time and transport costs. My boyfriend and I spent two nights here and walked almost everywhere. Mercado de San Miguel was roughly 12 minutes away, while Gran Vía, Museo del Prado, and the Reina Sofía Museum took about 20 minutes on foot. The city is so lovely to wander through that the walk felt easy, and we came across great tapas bars and hidden spots along the way. We only needed a taxi on our first day, when we were running late for our timed Museo del Prado reservation. The staff were really helpful, and our room looked out over the pretty plaza in front of the hotel, which had such a vibe. Absolutely recommend it.

The room itself was clean, pleasant, and spacious, but our three-night stay, from February 16 to February 18, 2026, left us feeling unwelcome and exhausted. We could hear the elevator all night. It sounded like a train and made the room vibrate, so neither of us slept well. We had booked back in October 2025 and specifically requested a bathtub. On arrival, we were told none were available that night. The most frustrating part was that the receptionist didn’t offer to move us to a room with one on either of our remaining two nights, even after we explained it was our first visit to Madrid and said we were disappointed. We waited over half an hour before getting our room key. It also had no bidet, which seemed unusual to us for Spain, where most hotels have one. Check-in itself was a long wait too. There was only one person at the first-floor reception, while couples who arrived after us were directed in Spanish to the concierge on level 2 and checked in without waiting. Later, we went out to take pictures and came back to find someone in our room, which startled us. Reception explained they have an afternoon “cortina service” to tidy the room, close the blackout curtains, and leave a tiny piece of chocolate by the bed. I think guests should be told about that from the start. The location really is exceptional, with the Royal Palace and Gran Via within walking distance, but the service didn’t match it.

Helena, who greeted me warmly at breakfast nearly every morning, delivered a complimentary snack of cashews and gummy candies as a thank-you at the end of my stay. That kind of gesture, along with the staff’s kindness, attentiveness, and professionalism, really stood out. I spent six nights at Barceló Torre de Madrid for a business trip, though it also suits a vacation. The Wi-Fi was fast and dependable, the buffet breakfast had lots of variety and healthy choices, and the whole hotel was impeccably clean. My room was roomy and comfortable, with good blackout curtains, a large bathroom, and a great shower with strong hot water. They stocked quality soap, lotion, shampoo, and conditioner, plus a complimentary one-liter bottle of water each day. The daytime room refresh sometimes came with a thoughtful good-night note on the bed. The hotel is right on Plaza de España, with the metro directly outside, taxis easy to find, and plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. Gran Vía, the Royal Palace of Madrid, Almudena Cathedral, and the Temple of Debod are all walkable. There are green spaces close by too, including Parque del Oeste, Jardines de Sabatini, and Casa de Campo. I had an excellent stay and will return when I’m in Madrid again.

This place is spotless. I’m a germaphobe, and even the bathroom was incredibly clean with no trace of mold. The wooden floors made the room feel cozy and clean, and they supplied everything we needed, including slippers and toothbrush sets. It’s luxurious and comfortable, and easily holds up against top hotels anywhere. What really made the stay was the team. Andrea Anastasia Rachel && Igor and Ahmad were so welcoming and went out of their way to help us have a great trip. I left my jacket behind and assumed it was gone, but the staff rallied like the Avengers and somehow found it. I was really touched by how much they cared. My partner and I are from the US and Korea, and we’ve stayed at hotels all over. This one is definitely top tier. Muchas gracias por todo y que esté muy bien❤️❤️❤️

Staying at Barceló Torre de Madrid made it so easy to explore without transport. Gran Vía, Malasaña, and even the Royal Palace are only minutes away on foot, and the hotel is right in Plaza de España. The property feels modern and stylish, with comfortable, spacious rooms that were clean and thoughtfully designed. Staff were friendly and helpful the whole time, making sure things were going well. I had a fantastic stay and would absolutely recommend it.
