The receptionist made our five-night stay feel especially comfortable. She let us check in early, helped book a restaurant, and brought us a kettle when we asked for extra mugs. She was welcoming and extremely helpful throughout. Hostal Bruna is right across the street from the Prado Museum, and about a 10-minute walk from Atocha Station. Other major sights, cafes and restaurants are within walking distance too. The location worked perfectly for our sightseeing and travel connections. Our ground-floor room was simple but clean and functional. It's a busy area, but with the windows closed there was little noise and we slept well. It's a small hotel with modest equipment, not a luxury stay, but the prime location, warm service and budget-friendly price made it a very pleasant choice.

The bedroom and bathroom are compact but laid out really well. There isn't soundproofing, but during my midweek October stay the noise wasn't a problem. The hotel is five minutes from the Prado and 10 from the Tyssen, with countless bars and restaurants right outside. One thing they could fix is the doors hitting the walls, perhaps by putting in floor doorstops.

If all you need is a location near Atoche, it's great, maybe a 4. Service was good too, though I'd stretch to a 3. The clean room is about the only good thing about it; for the room and facilities I'd give it a 1. The noise is insane, like there might be a bowling alley upstairs. If you want sleep or even a bit of peace, stay away. There's no value when it's total noise at 1 or 2 am. Save your money.

The room was spotless, and the WiFi worked great. Prado and Atocha station are both an easy walk away. I was allowed to check in early, and the welcoming front desk set a lovely tone for the week. The photos don't capture how good this place is. It's a real budget friendly find, and I’d happily stay again. Highly recommend it.
