The rooms are small, but for the price you really couldn’t ask for more. Everything was very clean. It’s a real gem in a quiet area, only a few steps from the city center and metro station. The man who runs the hostal is kind, friendly, and attentive.

The staff were extremely kind and helpful, and the location is hard to beat. You’re right in the city center, within walking distance of the main attractions. Hygiene was impeccable: the room was cleaned every day, and towels were changed every two days. All recommendations!

The price was very fair, 55-65 EUR during peak April season, especially for a prime Madrid tourist area. It’s not a luxury hotel, and gringos who don’t speak Spanish will probably need Google Translate. Some staff speak fluent English, but not all. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. More than anything, it was clean, secure, and run by a friendly team focused on service. I can’t say enough good things about it.

The owner is kind, though he doesn’t speak English, so expect to use Google Translate. My room had a small balcony over the street, but the walls are thin. I heard a baby crying and someone next door snoring, so bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. There’s no elevator, and the rooms are up one flight of stairs. They’re basic, but clean and fine for sleeping. I was traveling solo and felt safe at night. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, and it’s very well located. Walking to Almudena Cathedral took 20 mins. For the price, I think it’s unbeatable.

Booked the double bed room for two people for one week, and I’d go back when I’m in Madrid. The location is brilliant, right in the city center, with historic streets and loads of bars and stores. It’s 2-3 minutes to the metro and very close to museums and other sights. The bathroom is tiny, but everything else was great. The host doesn’t speak English, though we had no issues.
