Hostal Charlotte

Hostal Charlotte is good value, and the bed was very comfortable, so we rested well. Our room was new and very clean, with a great view of the city skyline, and they left a small welcome pack with water and coffee. It's right in the city center, a good choice for a one- or two-day stay. We went during the week, so I can't say how busy or noisy it gets on weekends. The building itself is very old and poorly maintained, though the elevator worked properly.

Jesus at reception was very kind and helped us on our last night, and the location is ideal. The stay itself was by far the worst hotel experience I've had. The rooms smelled horrible and looked nothing like the photos. They hadn't changed the previous guest's sheets, and we found body hair in them. We complained but were completely ignored; staff didn't want to speak English, so we stopped asking. We spent three days sleeping in our coats and jackets, and they never changed the towels. It's a cheap option, but honestly not worth it.

The terrace was a real plus, and we had a lovely view of Gran Via from our balcony. Our room was cozy and a little tight, but fine for a short stay like our three nights. We slept well since there was no noise at night. Breakfast didn't have many options, though we enjoyed it, and the staff were good too. For the price, staying right in the city center was a great choice. Thank you!

You really couldn't ask for a better spot, right in downtown. The room was tiny but clean and suited us fine since we only needed somewhere to sleep and shower. One towel we left in the shower as instructed wasn't replaced with a fresh one. Luckily I had brought my own, but otherwise I would've been pretty annoyed to go all the way up to the 7th floor just to ask for one.
