Hostal La Zona

Javi, Sebastián, and Gonzalo were so kind and attentive, which made everything easier. I spent five days at Hostal La Zona and had a great stay. The place was quiet and well organized, with comfortable, clean beds. Rooms were bright and cozy, and the air conditioning worked well. There’s also a small kitchen with what you need and a nice place to have morning coffee. I’d choose it first when I’m back in Madrid. 🇪🇸☀️

This hostal is genuinely honest. We left our luggage there after checkout and, when we came back, the host gave us the envelope of money, hundreds of dollars, that we’d forgotten in the room. The rooms are simple and clean, with an opening window and an ensuite bathroom, and the location is central.

Fine for a convenient one-night stop. The rooms are clean, fairly spacious, and very centrally located. But noise carries through the paper-thin walls, both from outside and from other guests talking in the hall or their rooms. The shower also felt unsafe, with sudden spurts of very hot or very cold water.

The wooden front door and staircase in this residential-style building were lovely, and they even offer coffee and biscuits for free. It’s a budget hostal close to Gran Via and the metro, and works well for young people who enjoy nightlife. Older guests who need an early night might want to avoid Friday and Saturday, since there’s a disco across the street. Another option is to avoid a room facing C. de Valverde.
