The location is the main reason to stay here. You can easily walk to El Retiro Park, El Prado, Reina Sofia, Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace, Temple of Debod, and more. There’s no breakfast or other amenities, as this is a hostal, but there’s a nice cafe right across the street. Reception is only open for part of the day. The Wi-Fi was unreliable and once showed an IP configuration error. The first receptionist connected me to the reception Wi-Fi, but the signal couldn’t reach my second-floor room. Luckily, the second receptionist knew to reset the router and got it working again.

It’s very central, close to La Gran Via, Plaza del Retiro, and most of the important places. Special thanks to Bernardo at the front desk, who was a big help to us as first-time visitors.

The beds are comfortable, but it’s awkward sharing with several people when the bathroom doors don’t lock 😳.

There was a nice little balcony, and the hostal is in a great location. The room was clean, tidy, comfortable, and had enough space for a couple. We did get separate beds, which seemed odd, but it wasn’t a big deal. The person at reception when we checked in was informative.

The location was really good for our three-night stay. We could walk everywhere, and there were nice restaurants and cafes nearby. The room was missing a refrigerator and hair dryer, and we noticed both. The pillows were extremely thin, almost like sleeping without one. On the first night, the air conditioner made noises from time to time even though it was switched off, and we woke up 7-8 times and couldn’t sleep properly. Thankfully, they agreed to move us to another room the next day. I’m grateful for that.
