Hostal Palacios Fuencarral

The staff were great and the beds soft. It's a busy area, but it wasn't noisy, and the location is great.

The location is what makes this hostel stand out. It's in the heart of Madrid, in a great barrio near both Gran Vía and Sol, with a short metro ride to the city's main sights. The street-facing rooms get a lot of noise, almost around the clock. Double glazing helps, but you can still hear it with the windows shut, especially during the day and evening. It didn't bother me, though it might bother some people. My room was small but very clean and well kept, with a comfortable single bed, a little table, and a sink. The shared bathroom was also clean and maintained, as you'd expect in a hostel. Staff were friendly and answered my questions when I arrived. It's a fine hostel, as long as you only expect the basics. For a solo traveller needing a short stay in the city centre, it's a good option.

We’ll always remember how Daniela helped us after we arrived in Madrid on April 28th 2025 during the total power blackout. Our Airbnb host never came, and after waiting six hours and being turned away by other places, including hostels, we ended up at Hostal Palacios. Daniela was so kind and understanding. Even though they couldn’t verify our identity or take a credit card deposit, she found us a room for the night. It was clean, nice, and had everything we needed for a short stay, right in the city center. My wife and I are grateful, and we’ll come back whenever we can. Thank you, Daniela and Hostal Palacios.
