Hostal Sonsole

Hostal Sonsoles in Madrid made me feel at home. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and always helpful, and you can tell they care about guests and their experience. The rooms were quiet, comfortable, and very clean, with excellent attention to hygiene and detail. It’s right in the heart of the city, close to restaurants, shops, public transport, and the main attractions, so exploring Madrid on foot is easy. It exceeded all my expectations. I’d return every time I visit Madrid and highly recommend it. A real gem!

The clerk was friendly and helpful, which made our stay feel more homely. The room was clean and nice, with a very comfortable bed, and the price was very reasonable. A lovely central Madrid hostal. I’d definitely recommend it if you want somewhere simple but high quality.

For the price, I think this was the best value I could find. The receptionist knows some English, WiFi worked smoothly, and we had hot water all the time. Rooms are clean, and the cleaner comes each morning to make the bed, empty the bin, and tidy up, though making the bed wasn’t really necessary for me. The hotel is easy to find and has an elevator, but once you get there, you still need to climb some stairs to reach your room. It’s about a 5-7 minute walk to the bus or metro, and the same to get a cab. It was quite cold during our stay, from 28th of April-3rd of May. There was a steady amount of noise, but earplugs can cover it.

The rooms are basic, but the price is above average. I wouldn’t bother. Reception staff, even if they don’t speak English, could still make guests feel welcome with eye contact and a smile. I can try my basic Spanish.
