For the price, it’s unbeatable in central Madrid. The place is simple but super clean, and the staff went out of their way to make me comfortable.

It was okay, nothing bad.

The owner was lovely and always cheerful. She changed the sheets and tablecloths when needed without getting in our way. The hostel was super clean, with a really comfortable shower and bidet in our bathroom. It’s well equipped and conveniently placed, about 10 minutes by public transport from the main attractions. There’s also a nightclub 700 meters away, which could suit younger visitors. They speak very little English, as seems common throughout Spain, but they did their best to communicate.

Javier and Roxana were especially friendly from the moment we arrived. We stayed at Hostal Suárez while on holiday in Madrid, and would definitely return. It’s close to Estrecho metro station and the Bernabéu stadium. Our room and bathroom were spotless every day, and the beds were comfortable. There was Wi-Fi, heating for the time of year, and a place to store luggage.

I don’t understand how this place could have just one star, it deserves at least three. My room was excellent and clean, and the hotel is in a great location. They supplied towels, soap, and shampoo, and topped up the toilet paper.
