Hostel Acacias

The hostel needs some renovation or at least updates, and I wouldn’t recommend it. The man at reception who wears braces was awful. He only spoke Spanish and didn’t know basic English, which seems odd for a place hosting international guests. He was no help when we tried to check in and was often away from the desk. He also seemed racist, making assumptions about our nationality and speaking to another staff member in Spanish as if he were mocking us. Even if it’s cheap, I’d skip it and spend more on a comfortable hotel.

The location was the only good part. We stayed in room 5 underground, which felt more like a prison than a bedroom. It smelled damp and like a basement, and the room had 16 beds, which made for a very unpleasant stay. The toilets and kitchen smelled strongly too. Most of the bathroom locks didn’t work, and the whole place was dirty. I wouldn’t recommend it at all. If you have another option, take it.

They shouldn’t still be selling rooms through booking sites without warning guests in advance about overbooking. This hotel is terrible, and even one star feels too generous. It deserves zero out of ten in every respect. Avoid booking here.

The location is good, but there’s no reason to stay here unless you can’t afford somewhere better. The corridors smelled, the people seemed sketchy, the beds squeaked and were uncomfortable, the bathrooms were horrible, and the staff weren’t friendly. A cheap stay can cost you your dignity. P.S. If you snore, get a private room 😭
