Hostel Salome

Aurimar made us feel welcome when we arrived, even though I don’t speak Spanish. She knew some English and patiently explained everything until I understood. The service was wonderful from beginning to end, and communication was excellent. When I realized at checkout that I’d left my favorite travel sweater behind, she went out of her way to mail it to me. They also let us store our bags. After that experience, it’s hard to imagine staying anywhere else in Madrid. Thank you so much. I’d recommend this place to my own mother, and that’s saying something.

I booked through booking.com and stayed for three days in March. They had the heating on, and there was air conditioning too. It’s very good value, with an affordable coffee shop right at the doorstep for breakfast. The metro is barely 50 meters away and connects to lots of places. The downside is the noise: you can hear someone in the next room talking on the phone, and footsteps from the lobby disturbed my sleep at night. If you don’t expect a balcony view or a spacious bathroom, you’ll probably be happy at checkout.

My company had booked me an apartment that looked great in the photos, but it was extremely cold and uncomfortable and didn’t live up to them. I made a last-minute change and came here instead, and it turned out to be a lucky switch. The rooms are clean, the bathrooms are in good shape, and the team was lovely. Special thanks to the lovely Venezuelan girl at reception, muchas gracias ❤️. I’ll be back before you forget me.

The service was super friendly and efficient, and the rooms are a good size, very clean, and fit for purpose. It’s a great base for a city break, within walking distance of restaurants, bars, shops, and historical sites. I’d recommend staying here to friends and family.
