Hotel Indigo Madrid - Princesa by IHG

The bar and restaurant were the highlight of my couple of days here. Dinner was outstanding, with high-quality food and a lovely atmosphere. The breakfast buffet was fantastic too, with plenty of options, and everyone in my family enjoyed it. The location was perfect, the service excellent, and it was good value for money.

UPDATE: 6 December 2025 I came back after a month, and things seem to have gone downhill. The free breakfast benefit for Diamond members has been removed. When I asked, I was told breakfast now costs €16 if your room doesn’t include it, whether you’re a Diamond member or not. The receptionist also seemed passive-aggressive. I’d requested a 2 p.m. late checkout and it was approved. At 12:30 p.m. on checkout day, the receptionist called and asked, “Are you staying for one more night?” When I reminded them about the approved late checkout, all I got back was, “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” The room is good and the hotel itself is still good, but with the Diamond breakfast benefit gone and a passive-aggressive receptionist, it feels like it’s going downhill. I wouldn’t recommend it. The hotel used to be just OK, but the reception team really stood out. They always said hello, remembered my face as someone who had stayed before without checking the computer, and even gave me an upgrade. It was handy being right across from El Corte Ingles for groceries. I’d stay again if the rates weren’t too high.

The hotel has a lovely, quiet feel and a warm atmosphere. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. I’m grateful to the management and the whole team for a wonderful experience, and I’ll definitely return.

The location is good, right on the roadside, and this seems like the kind of place to stay overnight and head out again. The hotel is small and narrow, maybe more of an inn. The corridors and elevator are very tight. Breakfast costs €16 per person and was mediocre, so skip it and look up a better nearby cafe to start your day. The bar staff also need to be more professional. I interacted with three people at the front desk, and they all lacked hospitality. They came across like they worked in an administrative office. A welcoming gesture, a pleasant expression, and a calm manner would help. Management could focus on training. They seemed comfortable only in Spanish, and it would be helpful if they spoke English well too. Being bilingual is always better.
