The way into the hotel and room is through a link sent by text, so you have to rely on your phone to get in. That's not my favorite setup. The location was great, but the room was just okay: the bed could use more pillows and be more comfortable. The bathroom needs an upgrade, with a tiny shower, and things could have been cleaner.

The location couldn't be better. I stayed three nights in an "exterior" room and didn't find it noisy at night. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the room was made up excellently. It was clean and worked well, with a heater, hair dryer and hot water. The bathroom was on the small side but had everything we needed. I'd definitely recommend it.

The hotel's cleanliness really stood out. Every day they tidied and cleaned everything and replaced the things in the room, all impeccably. The staff were lovely, welcoming and genuinely nice. The location is hard to beat, just 10 steps from Puerta de Sol and Plaza Mayor, with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. We had a lovely, stress-free stay and highly recommend it.

The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained, and the central location made it easy to get around Madrid. It was close to everything, yet we didn't get the noise from Puerta del Sol even though it's just steps away. This was my second visit to Madrid, and after staying at four other hotels or hostels, I'd easily choose Hostal Madrid again. From arrival, the staff were welcoming, kind and professional. The reception desk was always staffed, which helped me feel safe. Melissa, Jihan, and Luis especially went out of their way to answer questions and help with requests, always with a positive attitude. That care made a big difference. Hostal Madrid offers great value and outstanding service, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Madrid.

I've stayed here by myself several times and always felt safe. The building feels secure, and you get an electronic key for the front door and your room. My family and I have booked with Hostal Madrid regularly for 8-10 years, and I've never been disappointed. It's a great base for seeing the main attractions, with a truly unbeatable central location. The rooms are small, as you'd expect anywhere in Europe, but they're always clean, as are the bathrooms. The staff have always made me feel welcome. If you're looking for a hotel in Madrid, check this one out.
