ibis budget Madrid Calle Alcalá

The housekeeping team did a fantastic job and were very professional, and the breakfast buffet was a real highlight. But the rooms are cramped, and for three nights the small size was a problem. I also thought the price was high for this standard of hotel, especially with parking adding $25 a day. Deliveries were another frustration: they don’t accept parcels, whether food, clothes, or anything else, and seemed unwilling to speak with drivers. At a minimum, they should call the guest or direct the driver to the room. I hope they improve both the room-size-to-price balance and the delivery service. I might consider coming back if those issues are fixed.

The staff were nice and helpful, and Suansez Metro is nearby for getting into the city center. But there’s construction all around the hotel, with a lot of dust and noise on working days, and the official website doesn’t mention it. Light sleepers should avoid the place until the work is finished. With that disruption and the poor value for the price, I left with mixed feelings.

The rooms are on the smaller side, but we didn’t mind at all for the price. Great value, lovely service and staff, and we were very happy with our stay. We’d come back.

Restaurants are nearby, and the hotel is genuinely pet-friendly, not restricted to little dogs like some other places in Madrid. It’s clean and well located, about five minutes from the Metro and ten minutes from the airport. The rooms were clean too.
