ibis Madrid Centro

For over 125 Euro a night, this was a big disappointment. The rooms were shabby and run down, clearly needing renovation. The windows let in all the noise, with party sounds going on all night. The TV was tiny, mounted between the two windows about 4 meters from the bed. There was no room safe, no hand towels, and no heating. In Madrid, temperatures below 5 Celsius aren't unusual from November to April, but reception didn't offer electric heaters, and the blankets were super thin. Housekeeping left towels on the floor without replacing them and didn't bring more coffee. There was no real coffee either, just three sachets of decaffeinated coffee and 15 sugar sachets. The breakfast area was completely uninspired, wedged between reception, stored luggage, guests walking in and out, and the lift. Staff were unfriendly too. When I asked if my room could be made before 2 pm, the reply was a rude "No!". Totally inappropriate.

This place is clean, central, nicely decorated, and has friendly staff and a nice breakfast. There's nothing luxurious about it, though, so keep that in mind if that's what you're after. I had a great experience, would recommend it, and would consider staying here next time I'm in Madrid.

Celine helped make our stay so pleasant, and the staff were lovely. The hotel is in a marvelous spot in Malasaña hip neighborhood, and the rooms were spacious, comfortable, very clean, and well maintained. The breakfast buffet is pretty standard, but fairly priced at 9,50/person. The restaurant area is small and can get crowded some mornings, though it wasn't a worry for us. Ibis promises, Ibis delivers. Terrific stay, highly recommend!

I usually stay in hotels for work as a professional conference organiser, but this trip was for a holiday. The people here made the stay. They were always smiling, friendly, and helpful, and deserve congratulations. The hotel had a lovely feel and didn't feel like an Ibis. It was very comfortable, with a nice bathroom, especially the shower, good internet, and nice decor. After a terrible experience at a 4 star hotel for a conference in another city, this was so much better. Thank you for making my stay a good one.
