INNSiDE by Meliá Madrid Valdebebas

Paula was incredibly attentive and made sure we were looked after, going above and beyond. Ives at the front door was always smiling, welcoming, and professional, and made a great first impression. The food deserves a mention too: every meal was delicious and well presented, easily the best restaurant food in the area. My room at INNSiDE by Meliá Madrid Valdebebas was modern, spotless, and extremely comfortable, with thoughtful details throughout. It was a fantastic stay, and I’d happily return and recommend the hotel.

For an airport hotel, this was the best I’ve stayed in. There’s a free airport shuttle, plus a large grocery store and a pharmacy right next door. The room was clean and spacious, with plenty of shelves and ledges for our belongings and a big round table with chairs where we could eat. The bedding was so comfortable it almost felt like home. My only wish is that there had been more hooks. There was a small closet, but not much else for hanging things.

We arrived worn out and stressed because our flights had been messed up. Carlos checked us in, and his laid-back manner was just what we needed. He was incredibly helpful and even upgraded us to a nicer room. He was right about the slippers, too! The room was comfortable, breakfast was great, and the free shuttle makes getting to the airport easy. Dinner could use more vegetarian choices, though the food we did have was tasty.

The room was spacious, modern, in good shape, and had a comfortable bed and pleasant temperature. A lot of light came in under the door from the corridor, though the rest of the room was dark. The free minicar was a nice touch. The bathroom was open to the room apart from the toilet, with just a curtain for privacy, but everything worked well. The food at Yatta street food restaurant was disappointing for the price: two baos and two tacos cost EUR28, and it took 20 minutes for those basic dishes to arrive. I’d suggest the Burger King across the street instead. Getting there was a rough start. Around 60 people were waiting for the hotel shuttle at Terminal 4. The minibus holds 20 and comes every half hour, so we would have waited at least 1:30hr to board. We took a taxi that took five minutes, but it overcharged us EUR33. The hotel badly needs a larger vehicle or more frequent shuttles, and made no effort to address the problem. At the hotel, a huge line was waiting to check in. I’d checked in online, so I got a room card at an automated machine; otherwise it would have been another 20 to 30 minutes. For the return trip, we pre-booked the shuttle and got back to the airport easily and quickly in the morning. It’s a solid hotel, but the shuttle service and busy-period operations need serious work.
