The cockroach and the yellow stains on the mattress made it hard for me to feel comfortable about the room’s cleanliness. I found the bug on the second night of my three-night stay, after showering and just as I was about to sleep. I was shocked and scared, but luckily had shoes on and killed it. The 24-hour receptionist came quickly, took a photo, removed it, and seemed as surprised as I was. He couldn’t move me to another room, but helped me check the rest of it, and we didn’t find more bugs. I hadn’t opened the window, and the only other person who’d been in my room was cleaning staff. There were some good things here. The central location was ideal for exploring, and the room was clean when I arrived. With the windows shut, you can still hear some street and party noise, but that’s understandable in such a lively area. The two door codes, one for the street entrance and one for the floor, helped me feel safe as a solo traveler. The receptionist was kind and helpful, and I appreciated being able to leave my luggage after checkout for 1€.

The rooms are clean, but really small and a bit claustrophobic. The location is super convenient. There’s no lift, and they charge 1 euro to keep your bags for a while after checkout.

The room was reasonably clean and about what you’d expect at this price. It’s good value, with a nice location near the center and nightlife. The staff seemed a little quiet, though it might have been the language barrier: they spoke very little English, and we don’t speak Spanish. I’d recommend it to budget travelers.

It’s cheap by Madrid standards and right in the center, but the hotel is directly above a club. Unless you’re out all night, the bass can keep you awake all night, unless you get lucky with your room. I’d avoid it if you need to sleep before 3 a.m.

There’s a club nearby, so Friday and Saturday nights were loud. I slept better thanks to the metal gate that covers the balcony and makes the room completely dark. The room was tiny, but that made it feel cute and cozy. It was reasonably priced and well located, and I’d consider staying again if I come back to Madrid.
