We found a bed bug on our last day, after I’d spent the stay thinking the bites were from mosquitoes. A quick Google search confirmed the bug and that the bites looked right. I was being bitten badly, and later we even found bugs in our luggage and brought them home. It’s a huge mess we’re still dealing with. There were bugs of different sizes, from large to small. We caught one in a glass to show the staff, but nobody came to look. That, along with a pest control vehicle leaving the parking lot just as we arrived, makes me pretty sure this wasn’t new and that the hotel knew about the infestation. They insist the room had been checked, was clean, and had no bugs, and say we must have brought them in. They also accused us of staying knowingly just to get a refund. Who would willingly remain in an infested room, get bitten, and risk taking bugs home for the sake of a refund? The hotel gave us back only the final night’s charge, since that was when we reported the bugs. They’re supposed to provide a safe, hygienic room, but we didn’t get one, and then they blamed us. Make up your own mind about what they may say in response to this review. The room itself was disappointing too. The photos make the hotel look trendy, but the furniture felt cheap, the carpet and chairs were dirty and sticky, and the duvet speaks for itself. The fancy bottle held refilled, low-quality blue body wash. This feels like an immoral, money-driven business that doesn’t care about guests’ health or well-being.
