Angelica was very kind when she checked us in. The rest of the place is a pretty basic, cheap spot to sleep, though the advertising should be more honest about what sort of hotel it is. It’s a one-star hotel, not three-star or fashionable, and badly needs repairs and a paint job. There aren’t any signs inside or outside. We found hair on the bed, and noise from people talking and doors slamming went on until 2am. There’s no sound insulation, so bring earplugs. There’s no permanent reception, so you’ll need a luggage service to store bags after checkout. Signs taped to the walls point to a good place for that.

We chose this place because of the reviews and accidentally booked the wrong dates on a non-refundable rate. The dates we actually needed weren’t available, but we messaged right away to ask about a refund since we’d be traveling all the way from Australia. There was a small translation issue at first, then the staff were more than happy to refund us because of the mistake. Very reasonable service. Thanks, we’ll stay with you next time!

The hotel canceled our booking two weeks before our trip, and we were left to sort things out ourselves. We’d booked through Booking. com four months ahead. Booking. com didn’t help, the manager spoke little English but did say he could find our reservation, and the hotel ignored three different emails. They said the cancellation was because of an invalid credit card, but the card worked fine everywhere else in Europe. I think the hotel decided it could charge more. We had to find somewhere else at the last minute, and it cost us $200 extra. Worst hotel experience of our lives.

Ada and Valentin made our stay really comfortable. The place was very clean, breakfast was lovely, and the location was amazing. We’ll definitely stay here again. They’re wonderful hosts!
