The location is great, and the staff are really friendly. If you’re leaving Madrid a couple of hours after check-out, they’ll store your luggage at the hostel for free. Breakfast is good and free, and the beds are warm and comfortable. One thing to bear in mind for a stay longer than 3 or 4 days is that people are coming and going all day and night, so it can be hard to rest properly. Some showers don’t have hot water, but the ones that do work perfectly. I’d definitely stay again when I’m back in Madrid.

The hostel had a good location near the city center, and the front desk staff were super helpful. There were activities you could book or join from there, like a free walking tour, flamenco show, and pub crawl, plus free sangria at night and chances to meet other people. Our room had AC. The big problem was the smell, like onions mixed with feet. Opening the window didn’t help much and let warm air in. I managed some sleep the first night, but none the second. The mattress and pillow felt like rocks. A positive experience in some ways, but not the best.

The staff were helpful, and they print your boarding pass for free. They also have free sangria nights. But the building is old and smelly, and some renovation would do it good. There’s a serious shortage of toilets: only 2 for a floor of guests, which definitely creates a lot of rush. Breakfast was very basic and really not worth it. It’s an okay place to crash for a short stay.

After a long day of walking and drinking, it was a pretty good place to stay. The kitchen facilities were really good, though they closed at 11pm. Rooms were quite large, but the bunks were aged. Free sangria at night was a big bonus.

I loved the street outside my window, with shops, restaurants, taxis, and everything else you might need. A street singer completed the view, like something out of a movie. The hostel itself is clean, though a bit rusty, and the toilets are well maintained. The people were very helpful and friendly. Loved it.
