Literal Hostel

Just renovated and very clean. The service was great!

We’re well past our hostel days, but went with this place because of the reviews and Madrid’s crazy prices. We booked a private room with an ensuite. It’s clearly a new, clean hostel, and the location is excellent, no more than a 20-minute walk to anywhere in Madrid. Room 12 was tiny, so be warned. We travel with hand luggage only and still barely made it work. There’s nowhere at all to put suitcases. The room was basically a bed, with a separate shower and toilet area. The shower had clear glass and was fully visible from the room, which could be awkward if you’re not a couple. They really could add something non-transparent. There’s a shared kitchen with free tea and coffee, but no milk, freezer or ice. A supermarket is one minute away for anything else. Sleep depends on who else is staying: we had partygoers coming back late the first night, then an older girls’ group checking in after 11 pm the next. The door doesn’t block much sound, so light sleepers may have trouble. Nothing else to complain about, though. The staff were lovely, the hot water was good and the location was amazing. Remember to put out the make-up-room sign if you want cleaning, or they won’t come in.

The women's-only bedroom was spotless and organised, with a toilet and a bathroom that had a perfect shower. It was completely dark and silent, so I slept really well. The bedding and furniture were lovely, and the place was cosy and very comfortable. Beautiful, clean, in an excellent location, with friendly people and impeccable service. 1000/10, I’d recommend it.

The staff were incredibly attentive and patient, and the place was super clean. You’re tucked away from downtown’s rush while still being in the heart of Madrid, which is a really good location. I can’t recommend it enough. They even lent me a plug-in adapter for free throughout my stay. 10 out of 10!
