Lotus Opera House

The location is fantastic, and everything was as described. Communication went smoothly and check-in was trouble-free. But at this fairly high price, the noise was a big problem. I could hear other residents talking, showering, flushing, coming and going, and setting alarms as though they were in my room. Once anyone else was awake, sleep was basically impossible. If someone louder was staying there, I imagine it would be hell. The place is very worn, and the apartment feels dark because it gets no sunlight. There is a window, but it looks into a tiny, gloomy courtyard with scaffolding. The lighting didn't help; there were no nice ambient lights, so the place felt aggressively sterile, and the bedside lamps didn't work. It was mostly clean, though there was quite a bit of hair and dust in the harder-to-reach spots.

I stayed at this motel for two nights, and the location was fantastic. The room was fine, though construction in the neighboring apartment was really annoying, especially with work starting at 8 AM. The best part was definitely the two front desk ladies, Ava and Tania. They were friendly, professional and helpful. Big thanks to them.

You can hear everything from the other rooms and the common areas, so if you're sensitive to noise like I am, you'll get very little sleep. The staff were friendly, and the central Madrid location is ideal. Unless location is your main priority, though, I didn't find it worth the price.

We had a nice stay, thanks in part to the amazing location and very kind staff. Sound carries through the rooms, though, and the voice isolation isn't great. Still, I'd totally recommend this as a place to stay in Madrid.
