One Shot Recoletos

I stayed here for two nights with my sons. The staff were friendly and answered all my questions, and breakfast was available until 11am. Our room was a good size and extremely clean. We had a balcony with a nice view of the street, and the hotel was a convenient walking distance from our activities, tours, and restaurants.

Our stay went smoothly, and the hotel staff were helpful when we needed assistance. My sister and I had a great time at Hotel One Shot Recoletos in Madrid's Salamanca district. Shops, restaurants, and the metro were all within walking distance, and on a nice day we walked pretty much everywhere because Madrid is beautiful. The room was on the small side, and no water was left for us during our three-day stay. I've stayed at many hotels of the same rank around Europe, and they always had a bottle of water in the suite. Still, it was worth the price, and we'd definitely return. Thanks again!

I was here twice on my late-December trip. The hotel is close to train and metro stations, and you can walk to many tourist spots. We had made a special request before arriving, and the hotel accommodated us wonderfully. The staff were friendly, spoke English well, and answered questions effectively. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The water pressure was just about the best I've ever seen in a hotel. I think paying a little extra for a slightly nicer room is worth it.

The room felt like a prison, with no light, no service, and a wall right outside. We couldn't lock the door from inside to stop someone entering with a key, although it did lock from the outside. This is definitely not a 4-star hotel and doesn't deserve your money. The photos are nothing like the rooms. When we asked which were economy and which were premium, they said the pictures were for premium rooms, but it was impossible to tell the difference. I asked five times for them to show me an economy room photo on Booking.com or their website, and they refused and couldn't show one. The boss was very rude, and they didn't try to help at all. It was my friend's birthday, and because of them she started the day crying and very unhappy. Worst hotel I've been to in ages. DO NOT BOOK. You won't get your money's worth.
