Onefam Sungate

The staff made me feel welcome as a solo traveler straight away. Fran spent about 30 minutes marking up a city map with hidden gems and her favorite spots in different neighborhoods. Catya kept things under control at night in a funny way, making sure people followed the rules, and Brian was a great guide for the nightlife tour. I had a blast, and OneFam 4eva. 10/10, I’ll stay here again. The hostel has a fun, open social atmosphere, but respects quiet hours and takes the party outside so guests who need sleep can rest. The beds are genuinely comfortable, and there are no bunks, which felt like a small miracle. They also provide free hair dryers, toiletries, and breakfast, and the staff are wonderful. The reviews are right, this hostel really is amazing.

They put on evening activities and free walking tours, and serve a simple breakfast and dinner that may include Spanish food. The staff were warm, helpful, and responsible, and the hostel was clean everywhere. It’s a cozy place with a welcoming atmosphere, right in the heart of Madrid. I’d have liked a mirror in the room, and the shower water wasn’t warm enough. Even so, I’d recommend it for making a Madrid trip more enjoyable.

I felt welcome, comfortable, and safe from the moment I arrived. As a woman traveling alone in my late 20s from Germany, on one of my first solo trips and my first hostel stay, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. It’s very social and open, so I quickly met people from different countries and spent several days exploring the city with them. The hostel arranges group outings, including family dinner and going out at night, with staff joining in. That helped me feel safer. It was such a fun and easy stay, and I’d definitely come back.

The location is great, right in the center of Madrid, and it’s easy to meet people because the hostel is so social. OneFams are generally top tier, and this one is too, with some of the best facilities I’ve seen in a hostel. They don’t have family dinners every night, but the ones they did have were really good.
