Petit Palace Cliper Gran Vía

I saw a member of housekeeping, who I heard was named Julia, speaking to coworkers in a demeaning and disrespectful way. It felt unprofessional and uncomfortable to witness as a guest. Even though the facilities are well kept and the atmosphere is great, how staff are treated behind the scenes matters too. Behavior like that harms the work environment and can affect guests, and it shouldn't be accepted as normal. I hope management takes the concern seriously and sets clear expectations for respect and professionalism. I personally wouldn't return somewhere that doesn't seem to prioritize basic dignity and respect for its staff. The place itself could otherwise be close to perfect, and I felt I had to share what I witnessed because it affects the establishment's reputation.

The location is great and the staff are friendly. Everything was fine, except the bathroom smelled bad.

Right beside the Real Madrid store on Gran Via, the hotel is in a really central spot. The rooms are roomy and decent, and the service was very courteous. Thanks for the hospitality 💯

The location just off Gran Vía is the main plus. We paid €160/night for a 3-star hotel, and I wouldn’t recommend it. We stayed four nights at Cliper Gran Via. The staff were friendly, and when we asked to move rooms they made the switch without any hassle. Our first room had been updated, including a nice-looking bathroom, but that bathroom smelled strongly of sewage. The front desk sent someone with cleaning chemicals, so we tried keeping the bathroom door shut overnight. In the morning the smell was horrid, and we called down again. The replacement room hadn’t been updated, though at least it didn’t smell. The check-in area had a toilet-like odor too, and the hallways smelled and looked poorly kept. Sound carried badly through the thin walls. We could hear whole conversations from neighboring rooms, enough to know names, plans, and what people were doing. Early morning wake-up calls and housekeeping were clear as well.
