The receptionist working Tuesday night was rude. He wouldn’t let me pay by card for my gym card, even though I’d paid by card twice the previous day. There was also a cleaning cloth left in our room, and the coffee wasn’t replenished on the last day.

We booked a double room but were given a large triple room with a balcony and a big bathroom. We were really happy with the upgrade, and had a wonderful three-night stay. The room service is available too, despite what I’d read in some reviews. The hostal is owned by Hostal Madrid Cervelo, about 200m away, where you need to check in, check out, and have breakfast. That was no big deal for us since it’s nearby. We saw a reception setup here, but I’m not sure why it wasn’t ready to serve guests. If we get the chance to visit Spain again, we’ll definitely stay here.

Our room, 206, was very quiet, and the rooms looked new and were clean. We were in the part of the hiatal about 100m from where breakfast is served, but that wasn’t an issue. Breakfast was simple and really good: fresh, tasty fruit, amazing pastries, and good eggs and bacon. I just wish the bacon had been cooked a little longer.

Everything you need is right around the corner, with lots of restaurants, a Burger King, tapas, groceries, kebabs, Chinese food, cafés, and even a Thai massage place nearby. The metro is a one-minute walk away. We had room 201, which was quiet at night. The room was quite spacious, beautifully designed, and looked clean and new, as if it had been fully renovated about a year ago. The bed and pillows were so comfy, the shower was new, the heater worked perfectly, and the elevator was new and modern. We’ll come back 👍👍👍
