Hotel Maydrit Airport

The location was convenient for both the stadium and the airport, but we were extremely dissatisfied and wouldn’t recommend the hotel at this price. The online photos make it look modern, stylish, and newly renovated. In person, the fixtures and fittings are old, the lights flicker, and the overall condition doesn’t match the pictures. Our room had separate beds, which hadn’t been mentioned anywhere or explained at check-in. We were later told they couldn’t be joined during our stay, and no alternative or compensation was offered. We were also looking forward to using the pool, but nobody told us it would be closed the whole time. The room key cards kept stopping working. We had to make repeated trips to reception to get them reactivated or regain access. Imagine coming back tired after a long day or urgently needing the bathroom and finding you can’t get in. We kept the cards separately in our bag, away from phones and other cards. Even after we reported the problem several times, nobody apologized. Cleanliness was a problem from the start. Our pillows were black with dirt and stains when we entered the room. We took photos and showed them at reception. Staff didn’t comment or apologize, they just changed the pillowcases and did nothing further. When we raised all these concerns, we felt ignored, as if nobody wanted to listen.

The beds were comfortable, and it was handy that the windows opened. This place is convenient if you’re staying just one night and want to be close to the airport, but the rooms are a little worn and we found hair in the shower. It isn’t very soundproof either. We could hear pipes from other rooms and people talking in the hallway. The room coffee and tea supplies were only one cup for two people. Service in the restaurant/cafeteria was slow. We were the only ones there, but still had to call the waiter over to order. And no tapas came with our drinks. The shuttle costs extra and doesn’t run from 8 to 9:30am. The website says it runs hourly, which isn’t accurate. That was really inconvenient for us.

For a 4-star hotel, I was surprised they didn’t offer help with luggage. When I asked, reception told me they don’t provide that service. The staff were exceptionally rude and showed no basic professionalism.

We couldn't get a suitable room because the hotel was fully booked, and the room we had, 128, was dirty and dated. There was hair in the shower and grime on the phone, and it looked so unlike the official room descriptions that I thought we'd checked into the wrong place. I've emailed the hotel twice to try to sort this out, but they've ignored me. Those replies under reviews saying “contact us” haven't led to an answer when I've reached out privately.
