The rooms were clean and the whole check-in and checkout process was very easy. It's right in the centre and good value for the money. It was a bit noisy, though.

The cleaning staff were really friendly with us. We chatted and laughed together, even though one review had called them rude. The hotel is a good choice if you want to be in the middle of Madrid's action, and I've stayed here 18 times in five years. I'll be back. We had a balcony room, and it was quiet enough for the location. We didn't notice much of the noise other comments mention, though we're both heavy sleepers and Madrid gets loud when you're staying where things are happening. The rooms are small but had what we needed. The location just off Gran Via is great. My main issue was that our door lock was dead, so I had to plug in my battery pack to make it work. That was a minor inconvenience for two 30-year-old travelers who know Europe well. We stayed for two nights, Sept, 19&20. Overall, a good experience.

Avoid this place at any cost. The room was dirty, cramped enough to feel claustrophobic, and in terrible condition. The shower screen wouldn't even close, the furniture was in bad shape, and there was a strong, unpleasant drain smell that made it unbearable to stay in the room for long. The service was very poor. They have the nerve to charge over €100 for this dump, which is worse than a €40 hostel. AVOID AT ANY. OST THAT DUMP

Good points: the location, with everything walkable, a metro nearby, and air conditioning. The staff were nice online, but once payment was made, nothing more seemed possible. There was no twin bed as booked, and the room pictures were misleading. We had no cups or glasses, and they couldn't deliver any. There were no towel hooks or shelf for toiletries. The door didn't close properly, and noise came through constantly: we heard the next guest snoring and people in the hall clearly. Opening the window for fresh air just let in more voices. For the price, it felt like an expensive hostel.
