I left after the first night because we found bed bugs in our pillowcase, and have photos and video. The front desk initially denied it. After a long discussion, they refunded only two of our three nights, though at first they wanted to refund just one. That was unacceptable given how serious the hygiene problem was. The front desk agent also made offensive, racist remarks, saying a Mexican family who had stayed before had “probably brought the bed bugs.” It was shocking, inappropriate, and completely unprofessional. This happened at the end of November. We waited until January, hoping for a response or even a written apology from the hotel or Booking.com, but heard nothing. A very disappointing experience. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, even though the location is good.

Cesar was working at the front desk and saved the day when we arrived three hours early with all our luggage and they let us check in early. He also recommended some banging local spots. The room was great, with a window that opened onto the sounds of the streets. The location is super central to the main square, with lots of restaurants, bars, and clubs within walking distance. Loved it!

Madrid’s for exploring, so this place worked well for us. The subway is just steps away, and it’s a good budget option if you mainly need somewhere clean with the basics to sleep and shower. Nice location, and I’d recommend it.

We came away with good memories and had a nice stay. It’s a good-looking, low-cost hostel with a pleasant atmosphere and reception open around the clock. The rooms are on the small side, especially the bathroom, but fine for a few days. There’s no kitchen or restaurant, so don’t count on breakfast, though nearby cafés made that easy. The Wi-Fi was poor.

The stairs are worth avoiding if you can: they’re slanted and slippery, though thankfully there’s an elevator. Our room was cramped enough that I kept bumping into my travel companion, and there were barely any outlets. The AC was weak too. Wi-Fi connected to the internet for maybe five minutes an hour. I was very disappointed.
