Hostal Tokio

We chose it partly because it was one of the most affordable places we found with a private bathroom, and the central Madrid location made it easy to walk almost everywhere. There are lots of nice places to eat and drink nearby, too. My mother and I stayed four nights in a spacious, simple room with one double bed and one single. Both the mattress and pillows were comfortable, and the room and bathroom were spotless. The shower worked perfectly. The neighborhood is lively, which has pros and cons. It was quiet during our midweek stay, even with the balcony doors open at night, but the street can be noisy on weekends. Staff were friendly and helpful with our requests and questions. I'd definitely recommend it.

The hostal felt safe, and I had no trouble leaving my valuables in the room. Service was great, and everything was clean and tidy. It was worth what we paid. The location is really convenient: Gran Via is about four minutes away, and Tribunal train station is nearby for getting around the rest of Madrid.

We had a quiet room at the back, though I heard the nightclub next door can get busy on weekends. The location is excellent, and the hotel is a lovely basic option with air conditioning and WiFi in the rooms. Our private ensuite bathroom was very clean. Reception were really helpful, even though they didn't speak English, and kept our bags for us after checkout.

The room was nice and clean, and the people @hostel Tokio were friendly and very helpful. It’s well placed, with tourist attractions all within 2km. Just bear in mind this is central Madrid, so weekends can be a little noisy.
