For a budget stay, the location works: shops are close and the beach is a short walk away. The apartment building has a roof terrace with a mountain view, though really you mostly see other rooftops. Inside it’s a bit dated, with a very Spanish feel. The rooms aren’t large but are fine if you’re out and about. There’s a kitchen for making meals, a little dining table and a sofa that turns into a bed. The bedroom has two single beds. The bathroom includes a shower, toilet, bidet and sink, but the shower is tiny, around 70x70 cm, maybe even 65x65 cm inside. I took a photo of the towel hooks too, they reminded me of something, but I couldn’t work out what 😉.

The apartment was clean and a nice size, close to a beautiful beach. That was the only good part. We stayed nine nights and the bedding was never changed; the towels were changed just once. There were no English TV channels. The beach restaurants wouldn’t let us have a drink unless we were eating, so beer meant going to the back streets or the main road. The locals were very rude. We found only one decent bar where we felt welcome, and it was a two mile walk. el pado is a waste of money and a holiday unless all you want is to sit on the beach with your own beer and a picnic. We should’ve gone to Scotland.

It’s a short walk to the beach, and there are supermarkets and a bus stop about five minutes away for getting into Malaga city centre. The hostess was lovely. Parking on the street was difficult and I didn’t want to pay for it every day, but she helped me find a spot. Whenever I needed anything, I could just ask her.
