Casa de la Merced Suites

After a day exploring Malaga, we stayed one night before our 6AM flight. The city center was easy to explore from here, and check-in went smoothly. The room felt a little worn, though the shower pressure was phenomenal.

The main issue was getting into the hotel. They hadn't sent us the front door code, even though I'd emailed earlier to ask for more information. When we arrived, reception was closed, so we had to call the emergency number posted outside to get in. The receptionist wasn't very helpful in general. We visited at the end of June 2025. The hotel itself was beautiful and clean, in the old town close to cafes and restaurants. Snacks, water, and soft drinks were available at reception.

We arrived very late, but the check-in instructions were really clear, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The self-catering place was clean and well located. There were cold drinks, tea, coffee, and snacks for guests, plus bottled water in the fridge. I'd highly recommend this hotel.

From the entrance to the old town, shops and restaurants are an easy walk, and there's a parking house about 100 yds away that always has space. We booked a superior room, which was newly renovated, tastefully done, and very well designed. Everything promised was provided. At reception, cold water, coffee, tea, and nice cookies are free. Check-in and check-out were seamless. We highly recommend this hotel.
