Hotel Don Curro

We only stayed one night in a double room, and in the morning we spotted two roaches within five minutes while gathering our things. We checked out early after that. The staff were friendly enough, and the location is very central and convenient, but the lack of soundproofing was really noticeable.

We spent six nights here to see Málaga and would happily return. The room had lots of space, as did the bathroom, and we got the bathtub we requested. The bed and sheets were comfortable, and breakfast was good, with lactose-free milk and gluten-free bread and cakes. A fish restaurant is right next door, and the beach and shopping streets are just a 2-5 minute walk away. It’s a three-star hotel, though a kettle in the room would have been nice. We didn’t need anything more than that.

The hotel is older, but the room was well maintained. We could walk to the old town and the main attractions in under 30 minutes. Service was excellent too, the receptionist carried our luggage from the entrance up to our room.

That upgraded room we paid for smelled of sewage and was unlivable. When I raised it, the front desk staff were rude and seemed not to care. They basically tossed me a key to another room, which was awful too, but we had no choice. The whole check-in experience was rude from the start. Worst hotel experience I've ever had. Do not recommend.
