Fan Rooms Duquesa

Room 3 felt like a hospital and was really depressing. The windows were sanded over, so all you saw was an ugly courtyard. There was no soundproofing from the hallway, and you could hear other guests as if they were staying in your room. Noise from the next room was strong whenever its guest used the bathroom. The hot water is a serious issue too: they only have a 50l boiler, so get up early and shower fast. LATER EDIT: The host's attempt to defend the place is hilarious. The “3rd person” he mentioned is a 2yr old baby who sleeps in the same bed with us! Anyway, future guests, read the reviews and use your judgement.

Room #3 was noisy, though it was clean, and so was the bathroom. I waited around 20-25 mins for the guy to arrive with the keys. He didn't give me the wi-fi code, and when I called, I got his answering machine. Booking.com couldn't reach him either when I complained. There are 4 doors to open. At checkout, you leave the keys on the table in the room, so if you realize you've left something behind, you can't get back in. Backpackers would be better off in a registered hostel or pension, some have private rooms. If you can afford it, choose a Malaga hotel with reception. AVOID.......

The location near the sea and city centre was the best part for me. The bed was really comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. It's okay for a solo trip if you won't spend much time at the hostel.

After I left, management charged me an extra 63 euros as a “smoking fee.” I didn't smoke, so I called to find out what had happened. Bruno, the Hotel manager, only told me, “It is my word against yours.” I feel robbed. This is outrageous, and I wish places like this weren't available on booking. They give cities like Malaga a bad name. EDITED: Hotel management keeps insisting on lying about the guest's word and behavior. I'm filing a legal complaint.
