Hotel Alameda Malaga

A small boutique hotel, occupying a single floor in a building that also has condo rentals.

The staff were nice, the location is very good, and the room was small but clean. The second floor of the rating comes from those positives. Still, I’d never seen a hotel on the 8th floor of a large building before. There was also a strong, disgusting smell in the room, probably from the building’s toilet ventilation. Opening the windows didn’t help, since it seemed to be coming from outside.

The location is nice, but be careful you don’t get locked out if you return late. The bathroom constantly smelled bad, probably due to a sewage problem. I could also hear loud buzzing and humming from some kind of machines all night. Breakfast was really bad, and some items were even expired. The only thing worth buying was the coffee.

You can easily walk to both Plaza de la Constitucion and Playa de la Malagueta, and Centro Historico is very accessible too. The room door doesn’t block sound well, so you can hear people walking past, though it wasn’t a major issue. Overall, a great place.
