Hotel Sur Málaga

Breakfast was good, and the hotel was clean and nicely located. The room felt a little small, though that’s pretty typical for city hotels. I thought €350 for two nights in a twin room was a bit pricey. Malaga seems to be getting more expensive generally, I suppose because it’s such a lovely place to visit.

The reception staff were kind, and I felt really comfortable here. Great location, very clean, very nice!

The room had everything we needed, though its window looked into an interior courtyard. I’m sure there are rooms with a view. Staff were very helpful, and I’d stay again. I was here for just one night. It’s close to the center and not far from the port, with bars and restaurants nearby.

We didn’t eat at Hotel Sur. Around the corner, Elite cafe did a great value breakfast, and La Cordobesa nearby is worth trying for tapas. We booked mainly for the location and parking. Finding on-site parking in Malaga is notoriously hard, but the hotel has secure spaces on the building’s ground floor, just steps from reception. It was €15 per night, and you need to reserve in advance. Our room was spacious, modern and spotless. It faced inward, so it was quiet, though the corridors were loud and some late night guests woke us. The hotel was good value for the parking and location, even though the one-night stay was expensive, probably because UK school holidays were starting and demand for Malaga accommodation was high.
