Ilunion Malaga Hotel

ILUNION felt relaxing and well organized, and I appreciated its strong commitment to accessibility and inclusion. Breakfast was fresh with plenty of variety. My room was comfortable, clean, and well equipped, with thoughtful touches that made a difference. The staff were warm and professional, always ready to help, which made the stay welcoming. A great choice for business or leisure, highly recommended.

Breakfast was very good and had lots of variety, with polite staff, though there were dirty cups and plates. Maybe the crowd meant they couldn't keep up with cleaning. The cleaners were kind, but when we asked for a towel, one handed it to us wearing the same gloves she'd used to clean the toilet next door. At first, despite the good Google reviews, our room had a dirty floor, food and peanut residue from previous guests, and brown stains on the toilet. We showed the photos at reception. The woman there tried to give us the same room and said, "I've been there and it was clean." She eventually gave us another room, but we still had to clean that toilet ourselves with the antibacterial agent we'd brought. You shouldn't have to clean up after someone else. It ruined a whole day. The pool was absolutely okay, and the location was good. The hotel is large, looks nice from the outside, and has big rooms. We also saw two silverfish. Cleanliness and a polite welcome matter more to me, so I'm never coming back.

Having parking inside the hotel was really convenient. The room was good and what I'd expect of a four-star place, and breakfast had good hot options as well as gluten-free bread. But the breakfast area felt tight for the number of guests and was constantly crowded, with a queue at some times. It's in the port area, which didn't feel especially safe for walking at night. It's also not ideal if, like us, you want to explore Málaga on foot. For easy walks around the historic center, I'd stay somewhere else.

The hotel is clean, looks good, and has good facilities, but there were a couple of things to know before booking. Repair work started at 9 a.m. with enough noise to wake us up, and we didn't receive an apology. We were also there during a day with a red emergency alert for rain, when everything was closed. The hotel restaurant didn't open until 8 p.m., and then there was only one menu option, which wasn't very good.
