The kitchen had everything we needed, and the small cleaning kit was a nice touch, with a dishcloth, sponge, towel, soap and spare rubbish bag. We also appreciated the welcome pack. The earplugs made us laugh, then came in handy because the streets can be loud at night, which is expected in such a busy town. The beds were fairly comfortable and the room was very clean. Getting around on foot or by public transport is easy, though parking costs €20 a day. My one change would be having a person to speak with instead of AI at the online reception, which is available 24/7. Málaga itself is lovely, with loads of restaurants and cafés serving good food, wine and beer.

We made a last-minute choice to spend the weekend in Malaga, and the place worked out well. It’s right in the city centre, and the rooms were clean with a full kitchen. Self check-in was easy. When I called for help, the staff were really helpful, including when we decided at the last minute to add another night. If you’re particular about what soap you use, bring your own.

There was obvious mold in the bathroom, and the hotel wouldn’t do anything about it. The fan wasn’t working, so it seems like the problem may have been developing for weeks or months. We avoided spending time in there, skipped showering and brushed our teeth in the living room. Customer Support didn’t seem to take the issue seriously. The next guest will probably end up with the same problem.

The apartment looked lovely and was in a great spot, but it was uncomfortable and didn’t feel worth the price. Sleep was a real problem: the windows let in a lot of sound, street cleaning with a jet washer started outside around 3 or 4 in the morning and woke me every night, and the church bells also made naps difficult. I ended up exhausted. I’d booked a double bed and emailed ahead to confirm, but got no reply. We arrived to find two single beds pushed together, which was uncomfortable for sleeping with a partner because of the gap in the middle. I’d also paid €15 for early check-in, only to find it was still pending. Cleaners arrived before we could get in, and we waited on the street with our bags for over an hour. The €15 was returned, but the whole arrangement was poor. The kitchen was small but useful, except the sink plug had no rubber seal, so I couldn’t fill the sink to wash dishes. We had to leave smelly dishes and eat out, adding to our costs for three or four days. The owners said they’d fixed the sink, though they hadn’t been there. I saw the cleaners and they swapped the plug for me. When I later asked the owners for a refund, they denied responsibility.
