The roomy kitchen was one of the few positives, but it couldn't make up for the rest. The price felt far too high for the state of the facilities and the stay we had, and I wouldn't recommend this place. My mother is older and can't manage a top bunk, so we asked about a lower bed when we arrived. The receptionist came across as somewhat rude. We were told there might be a lower one, but it was being kept for someone staying longer. We were only there for one night, and I thought it was a reasonable request. Hostels I've used before have generally tried to help with this kind of situation. We were put on an upper bunk, which wasn't practical for my mother. The floor didn't seem clean, and the general upkeep was poor. The showers were frustrating too, since you have to keep pushing a button to make the water run. Other hostels in Málaga let you turn a tap and get continuous water. I wouldn't stay at MPods in Málaga again.

The owner was brilliant and helpful, and I enjoyed my stay. I spent two weeks here at the end of April for a really good price, and would recommend it. The place was kept clean and tidy, with a comfortable bed and good facilities for eating and showering. It's right near one of the beaches. One thought, a fan might be more useful than the TV for keeping cool at night.

We ended up at the airport in the middle of the night with no idea where to go, then found this place very close by. It was cheap, and we could book spontaneously even that late. The guy at reception was gentle, polite, and hard-working. We enjoyed our stay!

The location works really well for the train and bus stations, and the left luggage service is handy. Staff were friendly. But calling it "Pods" or a "Capsule" can obscure that this is a Hostal, with six beds in the room I shared, and the usual shared noises and smells. The walls are paper-thin, so you can also hear noise from outside the room.

The pods are roomier than a standard capsule hotel setup, with outlets, lights, a little reading lamp beside the bed, and a TV opposite. There's enough space to stand and change. It's good value for the money. Sleep lightly and you may have a hard time: people might snore or start talking after waking at 5 in the morning. The rolling "blinds" don't seal out air or sound.
