Casa Monte Victoria

Room 103 was freezing when we stayed in January 2026. On the third day they got the air conditioner working for heat, but the insulation was poor, so keeping the room at a decent temperature meant running it all day, which didn’t feel very sustainable. The shower water also took a long time to warm up. I imagine the place would be lovely in warmer weather, especially with the terrace. If you’re bringing luggage, check bus 36’s timetable or you’ll have a bit of an uphill walk. That said, it’s a lovely spot with a beautiful city view and the castle nearby. The bed was excellent, and the grill/microwave oven was handy. Check-in and check-out were straightforward, and the concierge worker in the house was friendly.

Hotels.com refunded me, and I was able to book somewhere else, fortunately. I’d already paid for this hotel and my bank had confirmed the payment, but the hotel messaged saying they couldn’t charge me and told me to contact my bank. They then cancelled my reservation.

The room was clean and practical, and I had a nice stay. The shared terrace is being worked on at the moment, though, so it’s advertised as something guests currently can’t use. There aren’t many buses passing the hotel, so the usual walk from Paseo della Victoria has become a nice habit.

A good place to stay. It’s a bit far from the city on foot, but not too bad if you don’t mind the walk.
