Terraza Del Limonar

This was the place that frustrated me most on my backpacking trip around Spain. I’d just landed in Malaga without mobile data or a reservation, so I went to the address. Reception said I had to book online before I could stay. Since I was trying to reserve a room there, I asked if I could use their internet. They hung up on me. I rang the bell again, thinking it might have been a mistake, but a different person did the same thing. That evening I was left on my own to find somewhere with internet access. I told reception their behavior made no sense and would only cost them customers’ trust. They blamed a manager I never even met during my stay.

The staff were super friendly, and the kitchen was clean and had spices. Rooms were very clean and the beds were good. The women’s dorms have their own bathroom. It’s really close to the beach, though a bit farther from the city center, and there are quite a lot of steps to walk up to reach the hostel.

The staff made this stay, always ready to help and thoughtful enough to remember my name. The hostel’s in a great spot near both the buses and the beach. I’d recommend it! Thanks for a great stay :)

The whole situation scared the hell out of me. The manager came up aggressively and stood just inches from my face. Before that, I’d said I planned to leave the following day because I’d been promised a lower bunk with a curtain, but I’d been given an upper bed in a mixed dorm. It was also very dirty. At 10pm they made me cancel my reservation, then insisted I pay a cancellation fee and wouldn’t let me leave without paying. They locked up my belongings to make sure I paid. They also said they’d call the police if I didn’t pay for all four nights. See other reviews, especially on Booking, since this seems to be a recurring pattern.
