Hotel Zenit Malaga

There’s paid parking just a minute away, though no free parking. The historic center of Malaga is about a 20-minute walk. The hotel is quiet, the rooms are tidy, and the service is great. A perfect place to stay when visiting Malaga.

Clean, comfortable room, decent breakfast that starts conveniently early, and pleasant, helpful staff. For the price, it’s perfectly acceptable.

The room was clean, but that’s about the only positive. Outside the window was just the wall of the building across the street. The hotel sits beside a noisy road, and the walls and soundproofing are so poor that we heard traffic, conversations, doors slamming, and even people breathing in the next room. Sleep and privacy were out of the question. There are no facilities either, no pool, gym, sauna, or anything else that would make the stay enjoyable or justify the price. The food was awful, heavy and bland, and some meals were close to inedible. It felt like it was being made by someone at reception with no cooking skills. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. When we asked about noise, poor service, or even basic information, the answer was, “We’ll call the police.” I’m not joking. Intimidation seemed to be their standard response instead of assistance. Hotel Zenit Malaga was a complete disappointment. I travel often, and this was easily one of my worst hotel experiences. Never again.

The location felt calm and safe, with bus stops just two minutes away and grocery shops and coffee bars nearby. It’s a 15-minute walk to the historic center and alcazaba. The room was large and bright, and you could choose different lighting modes. The beds were super comfortable. We had a kettle, tea and coffee, plus a large bathroom with a bathtub, toiletries, hair dryer, and fridge/minibar. Reception were welcoming and really helpful. Breakfast was quite basic, but enough to start the day. That was the one thing that made the hotel feel like a 3-star place. Otherwise, it felt more like 4-star accommodation. It really exceeded our expectations.
