Europa Spa Hotel

I’m giving five stars for the customer service. A big shout-out to manager Alexis, receptionist Sandra and her colleagues, Edgar and the rest of the bar team, and the animation crew. Everyone was great. It’s a family-oriented, quiet hotel. The food could use more variety, and the glass cups weren’t very clean, which was our main gripe.

The pool area was the one good part: it was well looked after, had plenty of sunbeds, and the slides were fun. The rest of our stay was awful. The buffet space was tiny, the food was horrendous, and it was the same limited selection each day. Somehow they even got chips wrong. Our room looked nothing like the bright photos. It was dingy, the bed was hard as a mortuary slab, and there were no extra pillows. The bed was wedged against the wall, and the balcony was too small for a drying rack, with dirty chairs and table. The wall decorations shown in the pictures were stickers, already peeling. In the bathroom, a broken shower holder sent water out into the room, and the sink was blocked, leaving water sitting there while I brushed my teeth. When I raised this at reception, I was told all the rooms for two people, including 105, 205, 305 and so on, were the same, and she offered to show me. When I asked about moving to a room not ending in 05, I got a smirk. She offered extra towels for the shower water, but they never arrived. Pretty poor service. The area felt dated and there wasn’t much to do. Do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere, there are nicer resorts and hotels for less.

The reception team were wonderful, always smiling and doing what they could to help. We got a warm welcome, and when our first room had a bad smell in the toilet, they moved us and upgraded our stay from full board to all inclusive. The animation team was fantastic too. The woman who does the kids’ evening shows is the best I’ve seen at any hotel. It feels like she was born for it, and the kids love her. We’re here with family, eight of us in three rooms. The rooms are modern, clean, well kept, and a good size, neither too small nor too big. The pools are fine for all ages, though the slides are mostly for kids and not very exciting. The lifeguards are professional and always watching. I got warned several times 😅. The location is nothing special, but the sea is close and there are lots of shops around. The sea isn’t very kid friendly since it gets deep close to shore and the waves can be dangerous. We spotted some fish while snorkeling, but had to drive 20 minutes to find good snorkeling. Barcelona is an hour away, though traffic sometimes made the trip to the hotel take 1.5 hours. The food tastes good but lacks variety, especially the desserts. Restaurant staff were polite and helpful. All in all, it’s a neat, cozy hotel with lovely people trying to make your holiday pleasant. The rooms and pools are fine, and everyone should find something tasty, but the food selection could be better. ☺️👍 4/5

We had a lovely sea view from our clean room, and the beds were huge. The staff were very friendly, and the sandy beach is beautiful and close by. With All Inclusive, there was a different spread of food each day, so everyone could find something they liked.
