Hotel Papi

I came away with mixed feelings. The fruit at breakfast and dinner was tasty, and cleaning was regular and really good. Andrea from the animation team was amazing, with a lovely smile and great work. Most staff were nice, though not everyone, and the information from reception depended on who you asked. I see the hotel described sometimes as 4 stars and sometimes as 3, and I can't imagine it being 4. You have to pay a 20€ deposit for a hairdryer, and there's no fridge in the room. The pillows were the worst, long and tough. Most of all, the water in every pool, including the baby pools, was freezing.

The beds were so comfy I slept like a baby, and the shower and bath together were easy to get into. Breakfast was yummy, especially the sausage, though I did miss having scrambled eggs. It's a nice hotel near the beach, which I love.

The location was the only good part for us, close to the main street and the beach. My partner and I stayed a few days ago, and left a day early because we'd had enough of the place. The staff felt awkward and generally unfriendly. There was no power in our room for the first 30+ minutes after we arrived at 10pm, debris kept sticking to my feet and shoes because the floors were untidy, and the bathroom was only partly cleaned. The sink area wasn't cleaned at all during my 5 day stay. Each night the bathroom smelled of rotting sewage, and the extractor fan didn't work. The beds were very uncomfortable, and I didn't sleep well a single night. There was lots of noise outside and in the hallway, and the noises from the hall gave me a creepy feeling. The internet didn't work in the room, and the TV was broken when we turned it on. You even have to pay a deposit for a hairdryer and a mini fridge, two basic items I'd expect in a hotel room. 🤡 It was a VERY bad experience, and I'd tell others to avoid this place.

The meals were simple but tasty, and the free Wi-Fi and helpful services were a plus. Hotel Papi and Hotel Papi Blau 4* share a pool, baby aquapark, daily activities, shows, and a buffet with Mediterranean and international dishes. The location is handy too, close to the beach and bus stop, with the railway station about a 15-minute walk away. Rooms were clean and had small balconies, though the older rooms at Papi could use updating. Papi Blau has renovated rooms. Check-out is at 10 am. The TV and air conditioning worked, but there was no mini fridge or kettle. Reception is open 24 hours and there's a mini club. Breakfast runs 7:45-10:15h and dinner 18:00-21:00h.
