Hotel Sumus Monteplaya - Adults Only (+16)

The hotel was very clean, including our well-organized room. Reception staff were helpful and patient, the food was delicious at every meal with plenty of variety, and both the pool and pool area were very clean. It’s a quick walk to the beach, and the evening entertainment was lively and great. The inclusive plus option was well worth it. I’d recommend the hotel if you want a relaxing break without having to worry about much. A couple of things could be inconvenient. The website says the airport is an hour away and that the hotel partners with a shuttle service, both of which are true and the shuttle was easy to use. But depending on when you land, you might wait 1.5 hours to board, and the shuttle also drops guests at other hotels, making the trip from the airport two hours. Bar staff were sometimes attentive around the pool, but at other times it felt like nobody was working. The pool closes at 7, which is inconvenient in summer when there are still 2-3 hours of daylight.

We were in room 206, overlooking the pool. With the door closed, the soundproofing kept out live music and other noise. The air conditioner made the room comfortably cool, the double mattress was comfortable, and there was enough storage space. Cleaning was thorough, with towels changed daily. The reception staff were friendly and professional, and helped resolve any issues. You can book excursions there too. The restaurant food was excellent, with such a wide choice of cold starters, hot dishes, desserts, and fruit that we couldn’t try everything. The one drawback is that with full board, drinks are included only at breakfast. At other times, water, juice, and fizzy drinks cost extra. Still, it’s a very comfortable hotel with excellent service and no annoying noise. I recommend it.

This is an adults-only hotel, so it’s a great place to stay if you’re on your own or in a small group. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous, and it’s nice to be well looked after.

We had an amazing ten-night holiday here and will definitely return. The room was lovely, with a very comfortable bed and good air conditioning. The bar staff provided excellent service. The food was outstanding, with something to suit every taste. Special mention to Elena in the restaurant, who was always cheerful and happy, and gave us a hug goodbye on our last day.
