Coffee and homemade treats are there to help yourself to, though there isn't a restaurant. The receptionist speaks only Spanish. Getting there means driving 1k up a really steep, winding road to a gated entrance. From the forecourt, the woodland and Ermua below make a fantastic view.

Finding the place can be a little tricky, so use Google. It's a very remote spot at the end of a narrow mountain road, yet Bilbao is about 35 minutes away and it's handy for other parts of the Basque country too. The room was huge and clean. There's basically no hotel service, which was fine by me, and the food is simple but very good. The terrace view is spectacular, especially with a beer as the sun goes down. That alone made the trip worthwhile.

I have a reservation and still haven't received an answer to my question. Is reception open 24 hours? And can I check in after 23:30?

Ederra.💚 Such beautiful surroundings for a meal, or just a quiet drink.

Beautiful place, absolutely amazing. If you're there, try the pig's blood, it's to die for.
