Hotel Montmar

The location is good, and reception were friendly and helped us with directions. Breakfast had lots of options and was very nice. Still, the hotel could use a bit of renovation. Our room wasn’t really wrong in any particular way, but it felt awkward and uncomfortable because it had almost no furniture or surfaces for our things. The bathroom was the worst part. There was nowhere to set cosmetics, soap, or conditioner while showering. The hotel’s shower gel, shampoo, and soap smelled terrible and felt like the cheapest supermarket products, which gave the whole place a cheap feel. It’s perfectly decent for a night, but I wouldn’t want to stay longer.

We picked Montmar Hotel for the last part of our Costa Brava trip in Roses, and it was a lovely choice. Our room was quiet, clean, cozy, and had a great view. Breakfast was amazing, and Brett (I think that's his name) pointed us to a great lunch spot. Thanks to Montmar & staff for having us and for the nice wedding anniversary memory. The checkout photos show how tidy the room was, and how wonderful it smelled. Cheers.

I stayed for over a week and was very comfortable. Staff were always smiling and kind, and the area felt safe and quiet at night. The beach and restaurants are so close that there’s no need to drive. There’s free public parking nearby, and I could always find a spot, even in high season. Great value for money. My only small suggestion is to add a hand soap dispenser in the bathrooms, or replace the soap when it runs out.

This is a nice boutique hotel in a residential part of the small town of Roses. The supermarket and local market are close by, and there’s a large parking area right in front. Staff are super helpful and do everything they can to make the stay pleasant. It’s around 5 minutes on foot to the water front, so a bit of a walk. I’d recommend it if you need a place to stay in Roses.
